A designer’s job is not only to empathize with the users but also with all the stakeholders involved in the project. There are a few things to learn from our daily design interactions:

Transparency = Engagement

Acknowledging your stakeholder’s perceptions and requirements should be the prime task at different levels of your design journey. Knowing your stakeholders, involving them, and communicating with them will reduce surprises for you and the team. The new mantra is Transparency = Engagement.

One out of three designers must have got this comment in your journey. “Not now — Maybe later”?

You might have a million-dollar idea, but prioritization is the key. Align and plan your vision for a vertical growth graph. Get comfortable with the feedback of ‘not now — maybe later.’ You can’t fight all wars at once. Conquer by innovation one at a time.

Qualitative data helps support theoretical concepts.

Communication is the key, but when backed with rapid conceptualization/iterations, data-backed decisions and rapid testing with insights can save your whole team an ample amount of time debating. “Qualitative data helps support theoretical concepts.”

As a designer you got to “be that vibe that maintains the hype!”
